Hey Mom…great to see you here. Thanks for commenting. Hopefully…you are right! I pray that the great majority of Americans still want to be free. It is not always easy to see these days but I believe it is still true!

Thanks Bruce...it is definately important and actually essential for a "Free" society to have the ability to make good and right decisions for one's self and one's Family(as you have so clearly stated). It has proved to be very disadvantageous for people whose Governments assume control over the personal aspects in the lives of its Citizenship. A "Free" person, is most generally, a clear-thinking; productive; creative person; isn't this what we really want for ourselves, our children and their children? Prayerfully, the answer to this question for most of us is...YES!
God Bless you.

Thanks Eleni…I love to hear people who believe in upholding our freedoms.

Thanks Glenn…I'm with you…I'm not even sure they care about our real health. I tend to think it's more about the power than having any concern whatsoever for us.

Thanks Keith…I couldn't agree more! The state will never be a good replacement for the love of one person to another. In fact…I would say that nearly every large organization tends to take away people's legitimate desire to help another in need. It even happens in the larger churches. At a certain point…when an organization gets large enough that the core focus of charity from one person to another is lost because the organizational structure becomes the issue rather than the people, then I think the "good" is lost and the "governmental body" begins to suck the life out of people for more power and the original intent of people helping people gets lost somewhere in the mix.

Jeez, this is one heck of a well thought out article. The basic point I think i would make about health care is that collectivization is a good thing as long as it's undertaken by individuals. Individual charity is what keeps our society strong, not the "charity" of the state which is really only in the business of staying in power. The state has no interest in making the world a better place beyond it's own shortsighted desire to retain power. That's why it can never be effective -- because it will always to the bare minimum. Individuals, through charity, will go above and beyond to make the life of another individual better. Whether we want to attribute that to God or not is also an individual decision. The fact remains though that our inclination to take care of our neighbor is much more than we'd ever see from the state.

Hi Bruce,

You make some very good valid points.

I believe in the freedom and right to choose and very much believe in the spiritual realm.

We live a very holistic life and we haven't vaccinated our daughter...But after our daughter was born 10 weeks early and spent the next 7 weeks in hospital, we were grateful for health insurance; mandatory or not, we had it and got our monies worth on what we had paid. I guess it's all relative!
