Chapter 1—

Why I don’t Use ICE…

I am an avid sports enthusiast. I love watching and I love playing. One thing I have not been able to figure out with all of the money professional sporting teams have at their disposal is the abysmal rate at which they are able to return their players to their jobs.

When a professional basketball player sprains his ankle…it typically takes 2-3 weeks before there is even a chance for him to return to playing. I have learned secrets that allow me to be 70-80% healed in 24 hours and then typically recovered enough to be playing again in 48 hours.

I suppose I have figured these things out primarily because of experience. I typically play soccer multiple times/week. I play competitive usually twice and then with my children at their multiple practices. I also snow ski, water ski (when I can) fly fish (where I cover very rugged terrain) and do as much physical activity as I possibly am able. Of course I wish I could do more…but with seven children and multiple businesses it is sometimes difficult to find the time. These secrets really are not very secret except that I don’t know anyone else who knows them. I didn’t invent them or even discover them from obscure places. These secrets are right in front of anyone who wants to figure them out. Why we don’t is truly a mystery to me. With the internet there is so much information available it nearly boggles the mind…which is why I suppose these things are still secret. There is simply too much information out there…too many places to search and too many things to find.

However, as I get into the later stages of my 4th decade, I am finding that I heal up much more quickly when I do get injured than I ever did when I was younger. I grew up as an athlete. I swam very competitively as a boy, played soccer and ran track and field. As I entered high school I narrowed down to soccer and track and field. I specifically did the pole vault as my primary sport.

If you have ever watched the pole vault you will understand that those pads are a pretty important part of the whole equation. One is supposed to land on them. Well…when I was a high school track and field athlete, I landed on my feet on the hard ground more than I ever landed on the pads. I was young and did not consider the consequences of such trauma on my body over and over again. I wince even now just thinking about how the shock of a jump straight down from 13 -14 feet even once would send a massive amount of compression to the ankles, the knees, the hips, the spine, the shoulders, the neck and ultimately even the brain. I did not do this just once…it was hundreds of times.

Can one completely recover from such repeated trauma? I still do not know…but that was just the beginning for me. I do know this much however…one can certainly live a full, energetic and completely active life after such trauma with the help of the secrets I will share with you.

Remember…this was just in high school. I hadn’t even hit the college sports scene yet and my body had already experienced more trauma than any should probably endure as a young and still growing boy.

In college, I played soccer and did track and field. I learned how to endure pain during these years. I also learned how conventional wisdom teaches us how to treat injuries and pain. I learned that many of these techniques typically do not work…at least very well. I learned that starting out with ice immediately after an injury did not help you return to your sport very quickly at all. However, I also learned a few tricks that started to open up my thinking to be able to later discover the secrets I will share with you.

When I played soccer I must have sprained my right ankle close to a dozen times and my left ankle at least half that much. It could have been the other way around. I don’t much remember. What I do remember is that I learned to live and play with painful and swollen ankles. I remember having swollen ankles for years…never knowing how to bring that swelling down. I remember I could push into my ankle and it would leave an indent that would stay for quite some time.

I am grateful that I learned how to tape my ankles properly and you can learn different techniques by simply doing a google search. There are various youtube videos that will show you how to do this. Just be careful not too put too much pressure under the arch of the foot and to make sure that the ankle is typically protected from an interior roll. I simply lived on the field in tape and was able to play nearly every game. I am sure it was not too good for the long term health of my ankles…but I learned to endure pain and that the body is very good at protecting itself even under extreme conditions.

I still to this day typically tape my right ankle just for protection…although I must say after having continuously sprained ankles for so many years I probably do it out of some sense of preservation than anything else. I am grateful that my ankles are strong today because of the things I have learned over the years. One of those things I learned early on is that running on uneven surfaces was one of the best things I did to begin to strengthen my ankles again. Although it does not really apply to me any longer, I still believe that this is one of the best ways to strengthen the ankles if you happen to have weaknesses in these areas.

I do at times still roll and sprain my ankles when I play soccer. Thankfully, what I know today enables me to get back to playing within a couple of days and I never have to experience the constant pain and weakness that I experienced playing soccer in college.

After my first couple of years in college (I was up in Portland, Oregon) I transferred down to the University of California at Santa Barbara. I wish I could say I played soccer there…but I switched to track and field once again. UCSB has since become a soccer powerhouse winning the Division 1 national championships not too many years back. When I went to school there back in the early 80s they did not have much of a soccer program…so I went back to track and field.

However, they did have a very strong track and field program and one of the very finest coach’s in the world at the time…Sam Adams. I was extremely fortunate to be able to train under Sam and with some of the world’s very best track and field athletes. I learned some training techniques there that are still not used or just making it into the normal sphere of life now. I was nearly 30 years ahead of the game. That is a topic for another time…but learning how to be a world-class athlete is not only about talent…it is very much about mindset and training.

I also learned that I became injury prone. I trained about 30 hours per week and my body never quite adapted to that. Now I know why. Then I thought I wasn’t warming up enough or stretching properly or things along those lines. My muscles were never supple enough to be able to last through months of training…so I constantly had muscle strains and pulls along with shin splints and tendonitis among other things. I believe some of it stemmed from my earlier experiences with traumas never healing up all the way such as I experienced in high school from pole-vaulting and my first couple years of soccer in college.

I never understood how to completely heal so one injury turned into another and another and another as I compensated for a pulled hamstring or groin or a knee strain or the like. Oh how I wish I knew then what I know today.

Anyhow, through the injuries I spent countless hours in the training and rehab facilities. I learned a great deal in those rooms but not much that was actually useful in the long run. I learned the concept of R.I.C.E. (Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation). I learned that ice can keep the swelling down…especially if you were able to apply it very early on. And I also learned that it takes weeks and sometimes months to recover from injuries. So, with my training in dealing with pain earlier in my life…I simply dealt with it as much as I could. I never was able to fulfill my true potential as an athlete because I never learned until much later in life the true secrets to taking care of injuries and pain.

I would love to be able to help others avoid these same pitfalls and mistakes. Plus, I have been in the natural health consulting business for nearly two decades and I know there are a great many people who simply live a life of pain. For years I had only pieces of a puzzle but could not put that puzzle together for the people that needed it. I was able to help…but not with the arsenal of knowledge that I have today. I know today that people can live largely if not entirely pain free.

So, although I am very grateful for my experiences in high school, college and beyond and what I was able to learn through those experiences, I find it necessary to share with you how I learned that much of what is considered protocol in the case of injuries and pain is at best extremely inefficient.

Let’s take the concept of ice or even ice water to bring down swelling. There are differing ideas as to how to use ice but they all stem from the same basic misunderstanding of how the body is designed to work. If we simply take a trauma to any part of the body, I can illustrate what I mean. We were talking about ankles above…so we will simply stick with this topic since an injury to an ankle is such a common injury inside and outside of sports.

I will use myself as an example. If I am playing a soccer game and roll my ankle to the point of a pretty good sprain, first I will come off of the field to evaluate if there is a more serious injury. I want to avoid doing too much on it if I indeed have broken a bone or something. I wish I could share with you exactly how I know these things…but that may have to wait for another time if I can even figure out how to clarify such things. Suffice it to say for now that I have been able to become tuned in to my body and what is happening with it. I am very good at evaluating what is happening internally and some of it has to do with the energetics of the body. We will cover energetics at another time because it is a bit more complex then the space we have for this subject.

Once I determine that it is a soft tissue injury, I immediately begin the process of allowing my body to heal itself. If I were to put ice on my ankle at this point I would be assured of a couple of things:

First, I would almost guarantee that my length of healing time would be multiplied by about ten. In other words…if I aid my body’s natural healing processes then I can probably be back in about two days. If I use ice, something that I believe actually interferes with the body’s natural healing processes, I would probably be back somewhere between two and three weeks…nearly ten times longer.

Second, I would guarantee that my playing time for that game is over…which I would never be happy about that.

The reason that ice is used is because of the fact that it slows the processes of the body. When a person falls into very cold water the body’s metabolic processes slow down so much that it is indeed possible to survive underwater longer in icy cold water than in warmer water because the needs for oxygen to all of the major organs of the body are diminished greatly. Since the coldness of icing actually slows the bodily processes down it is hard for those areas to continue swelling. So, it makes sense to ice if all you want to do is cut down on swelling and inflammation.

However, I, in the example above, want to continue playing…so I massage the ankle with specific things to increase circulation to the area. The secret to stopping injured tissue from swelling is to increase circulation in and out of the area. The mistake that is so commonly made in people’s thinking is that the problem is in the inflow into the area. That is not the problem. In fact…increasing blood flow to an injured area is the solution to quick healing.

The actual problem that causes and increases swelling in damaged tissue is that the outgoing flow away from the injury is hindered. Ice happens to hinder this process even more. The secret is to activate this area as quickly as possible and encourage the body to push the accumulating fluid out of the area. This is what stops the swelling. So, if I injure an ankle while playing soccer…I immediately activate the area and then go back out and play. By activating the area and then actually using it again…the flow of blood and lymph is actually increased in and out of the area. This begins the healing process immediately. It is absolutely amazing as to how quickly the human body can heal itself when it is given the right tools to work properly.

In the next chapter we will start to discuss the actual nuts and bolts of what to use and how to use them for optimal and extremely rapid healing after an injury along with how to begin to overcome long term problems of chronic pain.

I needed to grab him so that we could take one of the other kids to soccer practice. I held out my arms to grab him and told him “we need to get going.” He lunged off of the bench into my arms.

I was overwhelmed with the amount of Trust he has in me. Had I tripped or been distracted or simply didn’t care about him he would have landed on his face on the hard floor.

This got me thinking about my other relationships in life and in business. Most of the great transactions that take place in all of life are built upon the foundation of Trust to some degree or another.

The kicker though is…if you never take time to cultivate that Trust with others…you will never know what I am talking about. Trust is not something that just happens to you…it is built upon hours and years of interaction with others.

So…for example…if you have a Twitter account and never cultivate any interaction and communication with others on Twitter…your experience is going to be completely banal or worse…non-existent…and you will wonder what the big rage is with everyone talking about Twitter. You will have your 30 friends that feel obligated to become your followers but your experience is going to leave you or them no better than when you started.

In fact…I dare say…you will be a bit worse off than when you started. This is true on Facebook as well or any other sites you choose to join. If you are not involved with the interactive process with others…Trust will never be built. And then you will wonder why other people talk about massive success and why you just don’t get it.

My youngest son Trusts me because I am continually interacting with him and taking care of him as good as I know how. I would say he loves me as well…but I am not sure what that means for a two year old. But…this brings up a great point as well…

We don’t need people to love us to Trust us. Many times Trust bridges the gap to love but love is not necessary to be successful in many of your relationships in Life and Business.

Of course…we would hope that our children and spouses and families and close friends love us…but even with these relationships it is probably more important to develop Trust than anything else. Trust actually creates the flow of life unhindered by bitterness and hurt feelings.

We all need to understand this if we are going to be successful business people. Oh…you could make a few bucks taking advantage of people…but in order to have long term success…Trust is King!

Here are a few tips to build trust in your business relationships:

Keep your word

Keep in touch/stay in communication

Have your attitude be that of a “giver” rather than a “taker”

Touch people’s lives with who you are rather than a canned approach…be real

Be an Encourager

Have a personal touch rather than always talking to the “masses”

Building Trust takes some time and consistency but mostly a True Heart…being someone who actually and authentically cares about others and who is willing to serve them.

I very much would like to hear your thoughts…

I will come back to the second in time but I cannot wait any longer to begin to unveil the greatest mystery in our universe…the true secret of life.

Having an understanding of how energy works and learning how to change the way you perceive life and learning how to develop a positive energy field and learning how the “law of attraction” works are all very important…BUT…these things pale in comparison to what I am going to share with you today! It took me about 40 years of life to start to understand these things. So, please hold these truths in your heart, hands and mind delicately and let these things begin to take shape and work in a way that you might be able to actually embrace what I am sharing today.

One word of warning before I begin, however…don’t think you understand what I am talking about simply because you have heard some of the same words before. Try to get to the “pearl of great price” or the true “nuggets of gold” in what I am sharing. Do not summarily dismiss any of it simply because you see something you recognize and believe you already know. You may not have fully embraced what I have to say yet. If you actually do understand and actually live the way I am going to describe…please share with us a bit of your journey. I will be incredibly excited to hear from you and so will others. I will try to be as clear as possible…but if you have any questions at all I would very much like to hear them and see if I can respond. Please use the comments below to further this discussion.

First of all…the Third Level of Heaven is NOT PHYSICAL in any way…at least in any way that we can interact within our physical world. You need to understand this in order to even begin to comprehend what I am sharing. That is why I emphasized so much that the second level (essentially the energy level) is very physical. It happens to be largely unseen but still very physical. The Third Level is entirely Spiritual in nature…not the type of spiritual that many people believe is real. Most of what people believe in general about the spiritual realm is simply an unseen physical realm such as energy or the like. Whether you can wrap your mind around it or not…the truly Spiritual realm doesn’t have any physical aspects at all. The problem comes with communication though. We still have to communicate with language that is very much tied in to the physical realm. However, I will do my best!

I grew up as a Christian. My family went to church regularly and I learned about what it means to live a “Christian” life. I was fortunate in that I grew up in a fairly unique setting where the church we attended was very attuned to the concept of Grace. What I was taught was that there was a God who cared for me enough to die for my sin which opened the door for a life of being able to interact with Him.

This is a fairly typical teaching in the Christian church. However, as I grew and expanded my horizons within the church I quickly realized that most people believe that there is more to the picture of what it means to be a Christian than simply what I was taught as a boy. I soon began to see that there was a great deal of emphasis on becoming involved and “doing your part” and sacrificing yourself and a whole host of other things that would easily cause one to feel obligated to this organization or that organization.

I flirted with this concept of feeling obligated but in the end it didn’t feel quite right. This idea that you had to be obligated to the local congregation to be “acceptable” to God was not quite in line with what I learned as a boy and also through college to some degree or another. So, I tended to not engage fully with any “church” that I attended and my response to any question asking for my help was an automatic “no.” This way it at least gave me a chance to think and pray on it. Still though…I rarely helped out. It just seemed to go against my grain. There were plenty of people that needed help outside the church…I always figured my energy was best reserved for these people. So…I thought, if I were going to be of service in my life…I wasn’t going to do it because of obligation…I was going to serve out of a sense of love or someone else’s true need.

The atmosphere of these local congregations was one of making people feel selfish or inferior if they chose not to help…or worse yet, the people that truly wanted to help but couldn’t for one reason or another really felt bad. I never let any of these feelings take much of a toll on me but I was always curious as to why there was always such a feeling of dissonance most of the time in these places.

I got married and started having children. My wife and I talked about it and decided that we didn’t want our children to become involved with “Sunday School” or anything like that. We felt like it was our responsibility to share our hearts, beliefs and understandings with our kids and didn’t want other’s input too early. So, we kept the kids with us during the services because we also wanted to stay together as we took time out to honor and worship God.

However, we still were asked on a semi-regular basis if we would help with the children’s programs etc…I always said “no” and they always couldn’t figure why we were not willing to help. My thinking was why would I want to contribute to something that I thought was already a waste of time. I also didn’t like the constant arm-twisting in trying to fill spots for Sunday school teachers. It seemed ridiculous to me that if this were of God it would have to be manipulated in such ways.

I always told the “arm-twisters” if there quest were truly what God wanted then He would provide…otherwise just let it die until such a time that God was going to provide for the needs of the program. Of course, I was not appreciated for such advice!

Anyhow…through all of these years I constantly felt as if most of the “church-going” people were really missing out on some key elements of what it meant to have a relationship with God and what it means to practically live that out. The general consensus of most people was that in the end although you are “saved by grace” you continued to be saved by what and how much you did. That was a complete disconnect for me…it did not sit well with me.

Of course on the other hand there was always the question in my mind of what the practical out-workings were of a life of complete Grace. The argument against this type of life is that the “Christian” would then continue to sin knowing that God had it all covered anyhow. I knew that this also was not right.

I had always enjoyed a good relationship with God and good open communication. However, I still always felt a bit disconnected and never could figure out why. Until…I came to a realization that I was feeling the disconnect because I had a bit of a misunderstanding about what it actually means to be a Christian…or one who relates to God in an intimate way.

Now, I figured if I had this misunderstanding and I was already far removed from the typical teaching and practices of the local church in its inner workings, then how far askew must most people’s understanding be?

Well there came a point when I began to realize that my concept of God and of the cross was off. I was always taught that God the Father needed to judge the sinners of the world…it was something that he almost took delight in or at least was something that he was compelled to do by His own sense of justice… His nature was to judge because of His own standards of perfection.

The next logical step was that this “mad” God needed to take out His anger on someone and His son was the only one who could really take what His Father dished out. So Jesus became the incredible loving one and the Father became the “bad” one. You know the “good cop bad cop” routine…well they played it to a tee. But if it was the Father’s nature to really want to “get” someone for his/her actions…then it wasn’t such a lovely proposition to hang out with Him ever. Jesus was good…but the Father…He is too scary.

So, although the Bible talks about God being Love…He (at least the Father) didn’t seem to act like it much of the time…always ready to “smack you down” if you stumbled. As I began to realize the disconnectedness of all of these things it started to make sense to me why so many local “churches” behaved the way they do. They are simply reflecting their understanding of how they believe God Himself works.

So, although I never felt much of the bondage that most people feel growing up in the “church,” I did feel a bit of that disconnectedness until I began to “see” things differently. The greatest revelation of my life was when I realized that I had the whole concept of the Cross messed up. I believed what most “churches” teach that the cross was an undertaking of God to make sure that someone was punished for my sin and your sin. Of course that someone was Jesus.

But there were things that didn’t make sense to me in light of beginning to understand that Jesus was a perfect reflection of the Father. When Jesus was confronted with sin His response was always truth but always couched in a great love and understanding. When he was kneeling down with the woman caught in adultery…His response was one of a loving understanding with the hope of bringing healing to the woman.

Now that concept resonates with me…it made sense that the very nature of God would be to want healing for His people…not punishment. As I considered this…it also made sense that the only people that Jesus ever really showed any anger toward were the people who were always using religion to control others. Again…this is something that resonates with me.

If Jesus is a perfect reflection of the Father than that is how the Father feels as well. I began on a journey of understanding that has completely “rocked” my world and given me a completely different life…this…what I am about to share…is what the 3rd level of heaven is all about.

You see…the beginning of understanding is that the cross was not about punishment at all…but about healing and cures. The Bible is quite clear that Jesus actually became sin. He didn’t carry sin so that he could be punished on our behalf…He became sin so that sin could be dealt a deathly blow once and for all. Like all things in the universe…the energy of sin is connected with itself. All sin for all time is connected.

When Jesus became sin and was able to withstand the loving wrath of His Father (I will explain this in a moment) sin was dealt a death blow once and for all time. The effects of the cross were that there is now a cure for sin for anyone who connects into that event. The reason Jesus was able to do this was because he lived a perfect life. He was not stained because of sin and therefore His relationship with His Father was never marred in any way. Because of this He was able to withstand the Father’s wrath upon sin itself as Jesus Himself became sin to accept the cure for sin within His very own body.

Now, the term “the loving wrath of the Father” what does that mean? In God’s incredible love his desire is to destroy anything that gets in the way of our relating to him. Thus his wrath is simply an action of His love against whatever stands up against us to keep us from His loving arms. What are the effects of sin? In essence…it is shame and hiding and isolation…all things that keep us from wanting and being able to become close to God Himself. We do not feel these things because God is distant (as is so often taught) but because we cannot get past our own shame and guilt to actually engage in a meaningful relationship with anyone let alone God Himself.

So, His wrath is an act of Love that leads to the opening up of the doors that we normally keep shut and locked. When we experience the curative nature of the cross we then realize we are free to love and (more importantly) to be loved. Being able to live and walk in the Freedom of being loved by God and knowing that reality down to the very core of your being is an incredible experience. I know of very few people who have actually experienced this as I have.

One of the most beautiful things in my life is being able to not only know the love of God for me but to actually experience His affection for me. I literally feel so close to God, the Creator of All things, that I can climb up into His lap if need be and just be held. Or, I can have an interactive conversation with the Father and I will share my heart with Him and He will share His heart with me.

The fact that God is a trinity (three persons with one nature) explains an awful lot about the very nature of God. He has to be able to have relationship with Himself that is perfect in love, harmony, sharing and caring to ever be able to have that type of relationship with me. In fact…He has such an incredibly beautiful and selfless relationship within the persons of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit that His greatest desire is for me (and you) to join Him in that relationship.

When our sin and shame no longer have power over us and we are able to walk in complete FREEDOM to love and be loved…then we can actually, in practical and real terms, enter into the amazing relationship between the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and enjoy that relationship and be included in it…it is an absolutely incredible thing.

This is what it means to live in the third level of heaven…to actually and really enjoy and be involved with the most beautiful relationship that could ever be possible…ever! That is the incredible intimate, affectionate relationship of God as He relates within Himself and to me and anyone else who wants to accept the invitation.

That is what Jesus meant when He told people that the Kingdom of God was right there. This love relationship is the ultimate reality of what the Kingdom of God is and it is here to be enjoyed. It is truly amazing and unbelievable. I so hope and wish that you will join us in this journey of inter-relating and having intimacy with God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

This is not a physical relationship…not even in the energy realm…at all. It is more real than any of that. It is the most substantial realm of existence there is and it is available to anyone who desires it. I can tell you this very surely…God certainly desires it. There is the sin and shame issue that always gets in the way of His yearning for you and His invitation to you.

However, Jesus in His amazing love and the Father in His amazing love created a way of cure for these things if we would only take it into our very being. The pain Jesus felt on the cross was only matched by the pain that the Father felt because of what His only Son was experiencing. A Father’s love for His son is indeed special and unique…and God the Father’s pain in joining with the Son to provide a cure for our sin was because He made an incredible sacrifice in allowing Jesus to do this thing. The Father had to agree that we are worth it…that the relationship that the action of the cross would open up was worth the sacrifice to both the Father and the Son.

It is absolutely incredible! I hope you get a sense and a flavor of what this means. The enormity of it is staggering. Yes…living in the second level is special because we get to experience the physical nature at its finest when energy interrelates and we feel like we are really connected to something. Then we experience the power of the law of attraction and all that comes with that understanding.

The third level of heaven does not negate that…in fact it celebrates that. However, the experiences able to be had in the second level of heaven pale in comparison to the experiences awaiting us all in the third level of heaven. Wow…it is absolutely and stunningly beautiful and exciting. Language does not even begin to be able to convey all that is there waiting as we enter into the most beautiful relationship there ever was and ever will be…entering into fellowship and intimacy and absolute love with the author of love and the best lover there ever was and ever will be.

Again, I hope you will consider joining me as we venture and dwell in the third level of heaven.

As always…Blessings and enjoy this adventure we call life!

I am sure there are plenty of people who are quite ready and willing to attempt to back up their assertions that we need to make sure every person is insured based upon the argument that it is “good for society” but I am also sure I can debunk any argument that may be set forth with a more compelling argument for personal freedoms being “better for society.”

Here is the problem as I see it rolled in a nutshell…if you believe we live in a material based world then all of the arguments…whether they be economic or simply pragmatic…that may be set forth will be based upon what is good for society as a whole. In essence it is simply the instinct to survive from a broader spectrum.

I believe that these assertions would be correct if we truly were living in a universe that was at its very core only matter and energy or we were part of strictly a physical existence only. But I think nearly every person on the planet (at least the vast majority or people) would acknowledge that we are not only physical…that there is something spiritual above and beyond us that makes us important as individual people. As such…we have an obligation to view our communities as a collection of individual people and not simply as a collective.

So, where does the argument originate for a society to embrace the type of thinking that relegates us to a collective? The case must be set forth that the individual takes a back seat to the “good” or the “safety” of the community.

In nearly every case “the somebody” behind such an argument as this is one who either wants to gain power or stay in power. The argument behind “public or even individual safety” is always an illusionary argument. Whenever I hear this as a basis for an idea I know that there is someone or some group behind it who is looking to gain a further power hold. After all…it is natural to look after oneself…which is exactly what these people are doing who are behind the social engineering concepts.

Of course it typically is easy to make an argument to people that “every person needs to be insured.” It sounds nice and it feels nice. Wouldn’t it be nice if every person in this country had health insurance? Boy…everyone could sleep better at night knowing everyone is “taken care of.”

Doesn’t it make you feel better just knowing everyone is “taken care of?” Or, at least it appears as if we are finally coming to a place in our nation where it looks like a distinct possibility anyhow. It gives me “warm fuzzies” just to think about it.

Actually it could give me nightmares thinking about it if I allowed it to get the better of me. We as a family do not have typical health insurance and we don’t want it. In fact…there is very little about modern medicine that I believe is helpful. However, I have no desire to impose my beliefs about modern medicine on other people and their families. I simply want them to make whatever choices are good for them.

Do I believe that healthcare costs are out of control? Of course they are! Do I have an answer to the problem? Of course I do! None of the answers lie in mandating health care by any bloated bureaucracy…including but not limited to the federal government or the California state government…both of which are anything but efficient or wise.

So it comes down to this…someone (who wants more power) wants to force me into buying something that is going to greatly hinder my freedom. You see we use that money to truly take care of ourselves. We purchase supplements and food that are actually going to not only keep us healthy but help us to get back to a healthy state when our health falters a bit.

We pay for dental work as we need it and we would do the same for medical work if it became absolutely necessary (although we have never had to do so). I have looked into very high deductible insurance programs but there are a whole host of problems associated with these…not to mention they are predominantly unavailable to someone like me.

So…right now we spend about $500/month (give or take $100/month) on our health care for nine people. This money is used primarily for herbs and other supplements to actually improve our health. When we actually do encounter illnesses or accidents or anything of the sort, we use our understanding of the body together with the supplements that we have access to and combine those to create powerful avenues for the body to heal.

The great thing is that this $500/month in supplements etc… is truly an investment in our futures. You see…we actually get healthier. I am predominantly a healthier individual today then I was 20 years ago. I have less internal functional problems than I did when I was in my twenties. Spending $500/month on health insurance certainly does not do this.

Of course, I stick by what I said earlier…I am not interested in the least in dictating to someone else whether or not they should carry health insurance. I simply don’t want anyone else dictating to me whether or not I should carry health insurance.

I do believe the system is broken…but no-one is talking about legitimate fixes. The conversation is focused in on where the power brokers want it to be focused. So…we will not get the kind of real fix to the problems we need. We will continue to debate ridiculous and insane concepts because we refuse to re-center the debate as a people.

I wasn’t going to do this but I need to spend just a moment on this topic…If we continue to go down this road toward socialized healthcare…whether it be big government or a big corporation making my healthcare choices for me…we will have then crossed over from a free society to an enslaved society.

As soon as you allow “safety” and “health” to become issues of the “public good” you have lost your ability to stay free as a people. For instance…right now H1N1 (swine flu) is apparently becoming a pandemic. What are the choices for the “health officials” who wish to keep our communities ”safe?”

They can let it go and let people figure it out for themselves. With the information available today to any given individual and the plethora of products available there are a number of good solutions available to us…this I see as far and away the best choice.

They can spend money on educational campaigns to help people understand the risks etc… This is dangerous for two reasons: a) the “expertise” of the health officials is very slanted and therefore will provide only limited and one-sided information. When you have the resources of a government behind you then it will create an unnatural tip in the informational flow…and b) where there is money spent on education there is always the feeling that we need to be able to monitor, follow up and ultimately control what is happening…after all don’t we need to protect the investment?

They can develop and require action to be taken by the private citizens of this nation. This is a complete disaster…and one that is very possibly the choice of most of the power brokers in this nation. Whether it be a vaccine or a medication or whatever crazy scheme they can come up with…mandating it will be at the core of the plan because it is “good” for our society.

Oh I am sure there are more choices but these are the “biggies.” I know I have rambled on a bit in this post but my bottom line is…”just keep the government, the insurance agencies and all the rest out of my life.”

We have taken the time and the responsibility to learn how to care for ourselves. Public safety or not…it is up to each individual to do the same. I guarantee that if we cancelled all of the programs…a whole lot more people would sit up and start to figure out some answers for themselves. Would people die? Yes! Do people die now? Yes! Somewhere around 300,000 people die every year in hospitals that probably would not have died had they simply been left alone. Most of these have to do with fatal medicinal interactions and/or deadly pathogens picked up in a healthcare facility.

And yet, as a whole, we have the most advanced healthcare system in the world. I am sure we can make it better and I have a whole host of ideas that would work. They would require the free market system to be free to work and the concept of “public safety” to be redefined to something more reasonable as to ensure our freedoms are kept sacred.

Remember…I started this because I don’t want to be required to purchase health insurance and I don’t want it provided for me by the federal or state governments. I cherish my freedom too much for us to go down that road and I cherish the ability to choose methods to care for myself and my family that involve non-traditional ways of caring for ourselves.

I would also love to be able to share these methods more with others without the threat of prosecution as well by a system that is threatened by alternative ideas. Again…”public safety” being a ruse for power.

Anyhow…I would love to hear your thoughts!

You know when you are onto something very powerful when the spiritual forces and the energetic forces of evil come against you to sabotage your work. I just finished an entire entry on this topic of how the events of 9/11 worked to shape our national character and feelings of unity. When I went to publish the post…a saved post…it disappeared on me. In fact…I have another computer working on something very important as well…it stopped as well.

Now we could talk about the law of attraction and the possibility that I am drawing these things to myself etc…I wholeheartedly believe in the essential elements of the concept of the law of attraction. However, I also know there are greater forces at work that are beyond the energy sphere of this world and they don’t like it when I am able to complete something that would help shape and influence our culture and move it in a positive direction.

So…in light of the struggle that I know is happening in our nation at the moment and the massive division that is fed by the media…I am going to re-write my post as closely as I possibly can. I actually do not have the time…but I believe it is vitally important to talk about these things…

I am sure most of us who were old enough to remember the events of 9/11 remember exactly what we were doing and where we were at when the horrific attacks took place on the morning of 9/11/2001. I am also sure that if we dug deeply enough into our very beings that we would connect with some of those feelings that caused us to stop everything that we were doing and engage in the moment of horror with our fellow Americans suffering.

The fact that we were able to see these things on television made it all the more real to us. Of course we will never completely feel the pain of the people who were there experiencing the horror or the families that lost loved ones…but something “good” was transferred to the national character as we watched those events unfold that day and the days ensuing.

We watched and “experienced” as the horror unfolded and complete strangers (Americans) risked their lives to rescue other complete strangers (Americans). We felt fear and pain and anger together as we tried to work through as a nation just what happened. We watched in awe as “normal” everyday Americans were transformed before our very eyes into heroes.

We felt their courage and were encouraged. Pride swelled up inside of us as we sat and watched and listened and prayed and engaged in the moment of time that was so filled with evil and horror that we can seldom imagine such anguish normally in our lives and yet saw these modern day heroes save lives…often at the peril and loss of their own.

Somehow…that day and the days following…our differences were put aside and we were able to dig deep to the core of who we are and what we stand for as a people and a nation. We have always generally stood for freedom. Does that mean we have not screwed up? Of course we have. However, what we found as we banned together as one people we still hold many of the same values and beliefs and passions as most of the rest of our countrymen and women.

The things of everyday life…somehow were not as important. Could we live there all of the time? Of course not…but we sure can stand to be reminded from time to time that at our cores we all ache for people who are hurting and we weep with those who weep and we mourn with those who mourn.

As we watched people jump to their deaths from 30 stories up…or saw those buildings collapse with actual people inside of them who were going in at the risk of life and limb simply to save others…or saw the sheer terror on the faces of New Yorkers, we experienced the “goodness” amidst the terror that was present that day. We experienced and had a chance to “live” it out with our fellow Americans what it means to not only be an American but what it means to be human.

Folks…we have forgotten what it means to have that kind of sameness of thought and feeling that we felt during those incredibly hard and harsh times. The energy that was transferred as “goodness” responded to evil affected and infected nearly every person in this nation. In those hard times when we watched the courageous and heroic response of our people helping our people we realized that life was much more than we typically give it credit for on a day to day basis.

We need to remember the images of people running away in terror, people jumping from buildings as the hopelessness settled in, seeing firefighters and police officers and normal everyday Americans risking life and limb to rescue their fellow Americans who were complete strangers for the most part.

We need to remember seeing people cry in absolute relief as they were escorted away and out of the horror…knowing that those folks were going to be able to see their children again while thousands of others would not.

We need to remember that thousands of children lost a parent or even two on that fateful day.

But mostly…we need to remember how we all felt when we banded together as one people to share the fear and the pain and the anger and then the pride and courage and unity that the day brought forth as it unfolded.

As we discuss the hard topics of the day that will shape our nation for years to come…we need to remember that we are not here to talk about what the politicians are talking about…no, we are here to figure out what is deep inside of our national soul and come together in those places that we actually connect. We know it is there…we saw it eight years ago.

We can have a conversation based upon those common things that we felt and experienced eight years ago today and begin to figure out (as people) how to proceed from here. I guarantee our politicians are going to let us down. We better not leave it in their hands…none of us are going to like it. No matter how many times they open their mouths…lies and half truths (oh they sound pretty good) are going to come out. We simply need to disregard completely what they are saying and discuss these issues amongst ourselves. We will figure it out… and when we do…we let them know what to do.

After all…they do work for us and it is their job to protect the constitution as they are their to represent our interests. We will hold them accountable for that.

We best not let these big issues of our day be dictated or decided by those who are driven by self-interests…we must remember what this day, September 11, represents and use the pride, courage and heroism once again to bring us to unity to be able to move forward as we find ourselves once again in treacherous times.

Please leave your comments below and let’s have discussion. Any thoughts you have on 9/11? Any thoughts on the places that we predominately agree as fellow Americans? Any thoughts on forgetting about the politicians who seemingly are out for themselves and figuring this stuff out on our own?

Also please retweet this post so that we can expand and continue this conversation.

When I tell people I have seven children there are two phrases that always follow (one a statement and the other a question):

“Wow…that’s a big family!”

“Are they all yours?”

Well…it doesn’t seem like a big family. In fact when even just one of the children are off doing something else…there is an awkward gap in the house. Things seem incredibly quiet and it feels like we are not whole. It may sound strange to many of you…but when I am away from them…I don’t like it…not even for a day.

Sure it is nice to have some alone time to get things done. I use as much of that time that I can. But, there is a major part of my being that is tied up into the other eight people in our family that I have a developed tendency towards being a bit heavy hearted when I am away.

Oh, before I continue…yes they are all my wife’s and mine. Yes she actually gave birth to all of them!

So, the long and short of it is that I have never felt like we have a large family. It never feels too crowded to me…it rarely even seems too loud (except perhaps when they are playing soccer in the house)…primarily because my children are not naturally loud people. We have a house full of soccer players and readers, cooks, delightful human beings and hopefully someday…musicians as well.

I have to tell you…my heart is so full of love that I can’t hardly stand it. When we had our first child, a son, I was so convinced that every bit of love that I had within me was spent on him. So, when I found out we were going to have our second…honestly…I was nervous.

We never know the sex of our children ahead of time so my feelings had nothing to do with that…I just believed that I had a limited amount of love to give out and it was all spent on my first born. It wasn’t until our eldest daughter was born two and a half years after our son that I realized that the spigot hadn’t even been turned up yet.

We have birthed all of our children at home for reasons I will discuss at a later time…but as my wife was laboring in our bedroom I was unsure of how I felt about this baby coming. I had no such doubts during the first birthing process. Of course I had some nervousness about having our first baby at home…but I never questioned my feelings for that baby.

I honestly did not know until she was born how I was going to feel. Well, the birth was slightly challenging because of some fear issues happening in other areas that I am not going to share right now…but as soon as those things were “dealt with” at that time, our daughter came out with a full force of energy. She was so ready to be born at that point.

Anyhow…as soon as she came “flying” through the birth canal and she was physically present there. Every ounce of doubt I had was instantaneously gone. The spigot of love from my heart was turned up higher than I ever could have imagined and it was at that point that I knew that the type of love I was dealing with was coming from an unending supply.

I never doubted the power of love again and with the birth of each of our children (at home of course) my capacity to love only grew more and more.

So…one of the first things that I would share with the entire world if I could is the incredible love I learned as a result of having all seven of my children. There is not a day that goes by that I am not eternally thankful for them and for the capacity within me to love that is amazingly large.

I figured it out one day when I was thinking about my seven children…it took seven for me to finally realize what it means to love and live loved. I don’t know if you have found that…but if you haven’t…please hang out with me here and I will continue to show you the things I have learned.

There are so many things I really would like and need to share…but I believe I should leave those things for another time. I don’t want to convolute the primary issue of loving and being loved. I believe there is nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, more important than learning these two sides of love in life. For me it took having seven children to get this far.

How much further I have to go is yet to be seen. I know this one thing to be true though…I have learned things in these areas that have become imbedded within my very being that others look at me in bewilderment and wonder if I am deluded or making this stuff up. I am not making this stuff up…the ability to truly live a life of love is well beyond any imagination I could possibly have.

We will continue this again…until then…

“Live the Adventure!”

I would love to hear from you…please leave a comment or any questions below…

If you are a spammer…I’m sure you are even tired of it from others! It is about time to start looking at your audience instead of yourself! They don’t want your spam and you don’t even want it! So…why do it? Perhaps that is what you were taught. I’m here to tell you…you were taught by someone heading down the wrong path! Guess what that means for you?

Internet marketing, contrary to the message of so many spammers out there, is not an “easy” business. It can be unbelievably rewarding but it is certainly not “easy” to get the cogs of momentum going in the right direction. Weren’t we constantly told growing up: “nothing that is truly worthwhile is easy?” Don’t lose heart and grow weary of doing good! There is an entire world out there just waiting to soak in what you have to share with it. To those of us waiting with great patience for you to break out of your shell and start to fly…we want you to know the journey toward success is worth every bit of your blood, sweat and tears along the way!

So you may be wondering…”what in the world are you talking about it? I make good money spamming my way through life.” NO YOU DON’T!” If you believe that then you don’t know what good money is. Besides, I know you’re miserable inside! There is no way to be able to find that great “peace that passes all understanding” when you are constantly bugging people and trying to take advantage of them. In fact…some of the greatest joys in life come as a result of “giving” not “taking.” When you give yourself away…that is really the only time you will ever find yourself! Plus…as a bonus to this serving and sharing style of living…you may just find yourself making REALLY GOOD money on top of it all.

So…if you are spamming me, my friends and the rest of us…you need a cathartic moment to “see the light.”

Okay…you’re still reading but you are not a spammer. You may have complete respect for your prospects or clients. You may be out there doing your very best… but you are getting nowhere.. You may be asking questions like: “what am I doing? I can’t seem to get anywhere in all of this. I thought I was doing the right things but nothing seems to be happening.” Or, “Will someone help me because I have no stinking idea of what I am doing?” Or, “What am I doing wrong? Why can’t I get a break of some kind?”

I know these questions myself. I have had to struggle with them. You know what? I actually found some answers and so can you. Whether you are completely missing the boat in your marketing efforts by spamming us to oblivion…or, you have tried to do everything right and it just doesn’t seem to work…I have some great news for you…THINGS CAN CHANGE…YOU CAN CHANGE!

I had to come to my own personal cathartic moment AND SO DO YOU! When I determined for myself that nothing was going to stand in my way, something clicked inside of me and began to change. It was the beginning of my catharsis. You know what I did next…I decided to get some training and education.

As I began to learn the nuts and bolts, tricks and strategies of internet marketing, my catharsis started to take a hold of me. And, as I began to realize that this business is a whole lot more than that…it is about who I am and what I have to share…I started to feel the beginning of the cleansing of my doubts and fears that were standing in my way take effect.

You see…I was constantly trying to figure out what everyone else was doing so that I could simply copy them. But, it wasn’t until I actually received training that I began to realize (thanks in large part to the training) that the only path to success for me was for me to feel free and soar myself.

There is a passage in the Bible that goes something like this: “they that wait upon the LORD will renew their strength…they will mount upon wings as an eagle, they will run and not grow weary and walk and not grow faint.” (It is not exactly like that but I think you get the idea).

You see…everyone has been given a unique set of characteristics to live within this human interactive environment. In order for it to really work properly…we need to walk these things out. That means…YOU NEED TO SHARE YOU WITH THE WORLD! Otherwise…the world will always be lacking that part that you would add to it. This, my friends, is the beginning point of catharsis. Then, when you realize the profundity of what I am saying and then make a conscious choice to follow through with it…that is where things really start to rocking and rolling.

I did not automatically turn into an internet marketing guru simply by becoming educated and not even by realizing that I have something important to share…but the process had begun. No, I then actually had to make a conscious choice to succeed. I had to actually make a conscious choice to not let anything stand in my way of success. The education is fantastic and I will never stop learning myself and then turning around and sharing with others. But, once I had found that something deep and powerful and fantastic inside of me, I was able to come to the point of choosing to succeed or die trying!

I had to first understand that I have something wonderful to share with the world but then I had to commit to truly believing it and then doing it! I needed to start sharing and it took a mountainous commitment to do so. The “do or die trying” mentality came from a growing passion deep inside with an understanding that I have something great about me that needs to be shared with the world. “Be damned if I die doing it” was the attitude that ended up really thrusting me into a cleansing of thought, fears, doubts and so forth. The great news though is that if you truly have this type of moment for yourself where you come to this point of committing to your own self and your own future…(sometimes it may feel like you are dying) you really can’t help but become successful!

So here are some of the ingredients that helped march me on to the moment of a cathartic change (you will notice a common theme of pressure here. I think you will find that the pressure in your life or the fear of what may happen if you don’t step out and make a change is very powerful indeed):

I have a wife and seven children and we have some real needs and also some amazing dreams together! I was completely exhausted from not having those needs met and those dreams fulfilled…this played a role in my personal catharsis. (The dreams are not fulfilled yet but we are on our way).

I had experienced quite a drop in income after the meltdown of the real estate market. We still have a fair amount of real estate that is in a good long-term position…but the real estate didn’t create enough actual income to live comfortably. It is a good supplement but I had been relying on a good deal of buying and selling to create a comfortable income.

The overall financial pressure of not having enough income on a regular basis was beginning to wear us down.

Here’s a positive pressure: I found I absolutely love connecting and sharing with people who I am and I wanted to continue doing it forever.

Another bit of positive pressure: I absolutely love being at home with my family…

I was sick and tired of chasing after things that did not truly “resonate” with me

I was sick and tired of being unsynchronized (if that makes any sense at all…it certainly does to me and I hope you understand)

All of these things played a role in my own personal catharsis to come to the point of “no return…” to the point of “success or death.” As I mentioned earlier…getting to this point almost always assures success…so it is a great point to be at.

You have heard the saying “being at the end of your rope…” well this is where you need to be. And, in this case when you find yourself at the end it is best to let go. Force yourself into “do or die” mode by letting go of everything that makes you feel “safe and secure” and learn how to fly. If you never come to this point…chances are you will not succeed.

Internet marketing is not easy but it is amazingly fulfilling. It takes a great deal of force to get the momentum going…but once you get it going the law of inertia kicks into effect and a powerful force of momentum takes on a life of its own. The great promises of “easy money” from the spammers is never true…however, the law of sowing and reaping, or the law of reciprocation…or you can call it the law of attraction, kicks in and money seemingly starts to search you out.

It takes effort, earnestness, commitment, time, energy and so much more to get the wheels turning in the right direction.

You also must learn the mechanisms of how to do internet marketing. Otherwise, you may find yourself simply spinning your wheels. You may spend countless hours heading in no particular direction if you don’t know what you are doing.

So, part of this cathartic moment is coming to the realization that you need to learn as much and as fast as you can how to do this. Timing is essential as well. We are at the beginning of the wave. It is best to catch this wave now…then you can ride it for a good long time.

If you want to be a successful internet marketer you need to do a couple of things:

You need to find your true self!

You need to come to your own moment of crisis where you either make the tough choice to fly or let it die.

It is my desire to teach you how to fly…but I can’t make that choice for you…it has to come from that realization that you are incredibly unique and have something powerful to share.

So, I leave you with these two questions:

Are you ready for a personal catharsis of your own to start truly heading down the road of financial freedom and the life you really want to have?

or

Are you going to continue to muddle through, to continue to spam, or continue to spin your wheels gaining no forward momentum and nearly assuring yourself of ultimate defeat?

Let’s stop the madness now and get off of the merry-go-round. I want to help you. Let me! I want to help you find that “you” deep within that will give you the strength to commit at the”do or die” level and intensity.

Then, you have the choice to never stop. You can continue to journey further learning countless steps of how to become an internet marketing master and then to be able to write your own ticket to the life that you want to lead.

I look forward to hearing from you…please be ever so kind and leave a comment. I would love to continue this discussion with you. Also, if you want to learn more about the powerful life that I am talking about and the steps that you may need to take to get there…please take me up on my offer and let me help you! Please walk with me on this journey and together we can create the opportunity for powerful change for your life and business!

Thank you so much for sharing your precious time with me. I know it is so very valuable!

I was sitting with my youngest son this morning not able to do much work because he wanted to be held…so what did I do instead? I held him and enjoyed the amazing connection that I have with him!

You see…I absolutely adore my children! I have seven and I truly believe they are the most beautiful people on this earth!

As I was holding him I was thinking about the incredible freedom that he lives under. I don’t mean freedom from basic rules and guidelines that keep him safe and so forth…but what I am talking about is the freedom from fear, the freedom from self-doubt and the freedom from a sense of utter loneliness that so many people actually feel and realize when they are being honest with themselves.

My son knows my affection and lives in it. He knows what it means to “live loved.” That is his natural mode of existence. Now of course…he is loved intensely by all of us but there is something about a Father’s love that is just a bit different. It has a different sort of impact on us and it has the power, more than anything else in this universe, to free us from the abiding fear that is ever present in our surroundings. We all know it and feel it at times of uncertainty and loneliness…it is simply a proven fact.

A Father’s affection will create a barrier around the recipient that enables that person to literally soar like an eagle…no fear of tomorrow…hardly even a thought about what tomorrow may or may not bring. Someone who lives in their Father’s affection can literally conquer any obstacle and soar to any height because there is always safety in being loved by a Father!

Don’t get me wrong…I am certainly not discounting the love of a Mother or siblings or spouses or friends or anything else. We all need to feel the love of many people in our lives. The love of a Mother extends compassion to and through us…exceedingly important and so much more…things that a Father usually does not provide. However, for the most part, a Mother’s love does not have the freeing power that a Father’s love has.

That is why I say for your Business and your Life you need to live in a Father’s affection. There is no more powerful way to become truly FREE to live out life to its fullest extent. Our inability to embrace life and fully engage in life has a great deal to do with how safe we feel and how ultimately we “live loved.” A Father’s love makes us feel safe enough to explore, to attempt, to jump, to journey and grow in areas that we are not familiar with.

Life is constantly throwing hinderances in our way but our natural ability to overcome these have a great deal to do with the Freedom we feel when we are “living loved” in a Father’s affection. The good news is…even if your father was a complete idiot (hopefully not your own) a Father’s love can be experienced through a surrogate or even better through the person of God the Father.

Quite simply though…if you are finding road block after road block in your ability to engage fully as an entrepreneur or simply as a human being, take a step back and consider these things. My youngest son does amazing feats as an 18 month old boy. He does not know the “feeling” of fear. He is not hindered by self-doubt or fear or loneliness. He is completely free to look at the moment he has in front of him and fully engage in it. All that he is can be focused on what is happening right here and now because he has no outside worries of any kind. This is far from true of many 18 month old children. It is in fact more of a rarity…especially these days. By 18 months those feelings of fear and of being unsure of oneself have begun to become cemented in people’s personalities.

I personally also know of this life-changing power of feeling a Father’s affection. The freedom I now experience in life as a 46 year old man is far more than I can ever remember in my years growing up and as a young adult. I came to this realization as I was struggling through my twenties and thirties. I was daring and willing to take risks because I had it as a part of my make-up. However, I was not free of fear and so everything that I did was hampered in one way or another.

It was coming to the understanding that I am truly loved and that I really can live in the Father’s Affection (actually not just an understanding but an emotional reality as well) that freed me to begin to soar and learn how to truly appreciate this life and live it as the adventure it was intended to be. Oh I know that a lot of people live in a heightened state because they have learned how to substitute what I am talking about for strictly positive energy…but it truly is not the same. I know of both. Living in a heightened positive state is very important and powerful…but “living loved” is beyond any ability to convey in mere words.

Take a positively minded and charged individual who understands the laws of reciprocity and the law of attraction and how to positively interact with his/her fellow human beings and let them get a hold of this idea that I am talking about…and even their lives are catapulted to a different level of freedom that is really inconceivable any other way.

I am not asking anyone to become religious (religion simply destroys what I am talking about…it brings bondage and slavery) or to do anything at all other than to consider and meditate on what I am saying. If it rings true for you…I would be so happy to hear about it. If it doesn’t…I completely respect that as well and would love to communicate further with you on these things if you are so inclined.

However, it has been my experience in consulting with thousands of people that the Freedom that a person can truly feel when they feel the affection of a Father is truly unique. Entrepreneurs can soar and life can be experienced in a degree that is nearly inconceivable any other way. I hope you continue to join me on this “adventure we call life.” If you want to know more about how life can truly be lived in a degree that is beyond you wildest hopes and expectations…subscribe to our newsletter by filling in the boxes on the right…“Living Beyond the Edge…of Normal.”

Attraction Marketing indeed does work when you make your primary focus that of being an asset to other people. When your intentions and actions tend toward giving value to others…the type of people you attract to yourself are those who are interested in giving the same back. This type of interactive approach is far more powerful than having a "marketing" mindset…which is essentially a self-serving mindset.

First of all…ATTRACTION MARKETING (at its true core) Really Has Very Little to do with Marketing…IT HAS MORE TO DO WITH LIFE!

This is the secret very few people actually know about. Many people are actively marketing their products and services using traditional methods believing they are using the secret of attraction marketing whereas what they are truly doing is hoping to attract people to their products and services because they have a positive thought or affirmation because they have read somewhere that this works!

Does thinking positive help…absolutely it does! Do making affirmations help…just ask Katie Freiling! She has a great blog post on this here: http://katiefreiling.com/affirmations/ Affirmations work best when they are actually connected to a positive energy or feeling within yourself. The energy signature (to learn more about this see this blog post here: http://www.howtodolife.com/blog/2009/06/3levelsofheavenpart2/) that is created is the sum total of your thoughts and feelings and the physical interactions within your body such as hormones being released and all sorts of different interactions taking place. All of these things are interconnected and thus create specific energy signatures that attract like energy signatures to yourself. However, it is specifically for this reason that attraction marketing does not work from a traditional marketing concept. I will explain why this is…

Since every thought, action, feeling and interaction within your body and with your surroundings creates certain energy wavelengths or what I like to call energy signatures…the predominance of the self-interested energy involved in traditional marketing will predominantly attract self-interested people mainly wanting to market to you! This isn’t necessarily a bad thing but I have found it is better to have a better foundation than that when trying to build an interactive tribe of people who have a collective interest in each other. We have all heard the saying “the sum is greater than its parts.” This seems to be highlighted in an even greater degree in this new era of social networking!

Attraction Marketing indeed does work when you make your primary focus that of being an asset to other people. When your intentions and actions tend toward giving value to others…the type of people you attract to yourself are those who are interested in giving the same back. This type of interactive approach is far more powerful than having a “marketing” mindset…which is essentially a self-serving mindset.

Attraction Marketing does not work well if taken from the foundational mindset of “I am trying to draw people into my opportunity, or my products, or anything else that I am trying to sell.”

So, I would highly suggest to be constantly vigilant in your core motivations of why you do what you do. People know when your intentions are “for” them! But, they also know when your intentions are to “take” from them.

A genuinely giving mindset and heart is the first order of business for success at every level…

Please leave your comments…I very much would love to hear what you have to say about this!

Remember to “live the adventure” today!

Okay…it is a day late and I apologize for that! However, I had some issues with the photos so I have a bit of an excuse.

One of the beautiful things about fly fishing is that it teaches you to live in the moment. If you are not aware of each second then you would surely miss the opportunities that arise in the form of catching fish. When fishing for trout specifically they can rise in an instant and be gone just as quickly. You very much have to experience it all as it is happening or you miss the experience.

With the stunning beauty of the surroundings, the utter enjoyment of the fishing and the wonderful interaction with my two eldest children…I had such a fantastic time. We ended up fishing for three days. The first day we fished Flat Creek; the second Caples Creek; and the third the Silver Fork of the American. I am still trying to decide if I should give exact locations and give away our secrets, but suffice it to say that we had to do a fair amount of walking to get away from the beaten path and into some great fishing.

I can tell you this…Flat Creek was flat this time of year. I have never fished this creek in July before and now I know why. It was much too low for any productive fishing. However, the next two days were filled with lots of fish and lots of fun and lots of walking. We were just absolutely worn out. Anyhow, my main objective is just to say how proud I am of my children as they were really starting to get a hang of this sport that literally takes decades to fully learn. Also, I wanted to share just a few pictures for fun!
